Okay, okay… I will admit it. Last update won me over! Good on you BA!
But still some way to go!
Please help us add players to the international lineups or clubs!
Thank you.

Hey everyone, might be lack of knowledge on my side but why does the Romanian Kaufland League only have 5 teams and I assume the other Romanian league is the 2nd division. Is it accurate to real life? And if they’re two divisions could we link them for promotion/relegation for career mode please?
Played another couple of games and really now think that the biggest blocker to this game kicking on is:
A) the way the backline lines up after each ruck
B) the support lines when you make a break
C) the players float about (doesn’t feel like they’re running) too quickly (I think unopposed, the players could go from 1 try line to the other faster than Usain Bolt)
If I were a developer at BA, this would be what I’d focus on next
Then:
Hello devs.
Thanks for making a rugby game, even if it seems a bit hard.
Just to signal what seems a bug : The Perpignan Stadium (Aimé Giral) in game look completely different that the one in the stadium selection menu.
The one in stadium selection menu look more or less like the real one, but the one in game look nothing like the real Perpignan stadium.
Regards
Really think this is a key point and challenge I find with enjoyment in the game. Too many things feeling “unclear” or “out of sync with a players inputs”. I think rucks are such a painful experience because no one actually knows how they are intended to be played and no one knows how to influence them. There’s debates in this and other threads of how to influence the ruck.
Ideally the animations would give you a good sense of whether you are winning/have a right to win or not and if you hit the button to bind, your player that is standing right next to the ruck gets involved (especially if the attacking player is isolated). Then if there is a contest there would be a gradual winning of the ruck rather than a sudden “you win” animation, which further adds to the luck of the draw feel of it. If that isn’t possible, then having external graphics to give a sense of this. Currently there is the bar next to the ruck, but again it currently feels really disconnected from any action a player is having.
This is the most glaring example of this disconnect (as it’s a key part of gameplay and you encounter it a lot), but you feel it in attack (lock in to tackle animations rather than it feeling like a fluid situation - which I think Rugby Challenge did well but overdid it with offloads prior to sliders), you feel it in kicking (honestly I’ve just avoided it for a while, so not sure it feels better) and you feel it in passing (the hold down bumpers is effective at identifying who you are passing to, but often there is too big a delay between holding the bumper and the icons popping up to be useful).
Anyway, just wanted to emphasise the point Mad Dragon raised (hopefully also on the same page and I’ve not taken his comment on a complete tangent
).
Game is definitely getting better with each patch.
Still a ways to go, but keep up the good work ![]()
Game has got completely unrealistic after latest patch, half time, wales are leading 13-10 against Ireland!..…oh wait!
Great rugby 25 dive by Tom rogers

fantastic shout! Ireland haven’t mastered the shoulder triggers for scrums either!
I still can’t play online since last week Saturday’s update
Yes Sliders please , Amen, Amen. These will help us fine tune the game to our individual liking.
Weird after I praised the rucks were working better particularly on the Steam version 1.02568 with more variety and accuracy that it felt like real rugby, another patch V1.02588 steam comes out, which seem ok, but did not have much time to test because another patch comes out within 24hrs that puts it back to the previous patch that was before the good rucking patch.
In the current patch, Now the AI on hard difficulty goes 25-30 AI phases, on a Hard AI difficulty to go 2-3 meters on the pitch., With it being very difficult to turn the AI over, and slow ruck reaction.
Current patch, playing on defense is really bad,
Ruck, tackle the first player AI passes to, repeat, Ruck, tackle the first player AI passes to, repeat, for like 25-30 phases, with AI making little to no progress. Extremely repetitive and boring. Hopefully this is all part of a great master plan for tuning. This is what I am sticking with. ![]()
If not, please go back to steam version 1.02568 ruck settings. So much better for simulation ruck play. The AI would get the occasional Ruck turnover, the player would get the occasional ruck turn over. The offensive team had the ruck advantage all things being equal, but if you played smart on defense and picked your moment with the correct rucking player , you could get a good ruck turnover, or breakdown steal and the AI could do the same. This was my experience with V1.02568 steam update at the ruck. All that need to be added in the ruck was , individual standing tackle contest steal of isolated player with offensive player having oppurtunity to hold on with chance to get penalized, with the animation to support it.
When we apply logos to kits can they not get streched because it makes it extremely difficult to make the logos look right.
Did you get a chance to play steam v1.02568 , it was only out for like 48 hrs then it was updated to another, and about 24 hrs after that to another one that was not good for the rucks. But I thought V1.02568 worked well played like 3 15 min halve games. With Argentina vs Samoa on hard difficulty. Argentina rated just slightly better, so two fairly even teams on paper. Being from Argentina , played as the Pumas.
Edit: after some more testing on steam, got the rucks working pretty good now with, V1.02588. See post below:
Can you add real players into your team or is it just your custom players? If you can how?
This all sounds very similar to tie break release actually. Getting multiple different feedback , changing things getting complaints and switching it back in 24 hrs … For now they just desperately need to address the passing, coming from a game of rugby challenge 3 to this is actually pretty ridiculous the difference a ai who can actually pass and run lines etc makes… Even more ridiculous when you consider the age of that game…
And sliders will likely happen but will take time with afl and tiebreak it was a good few months till they were added. Still sliders won’t change the fact that absolute basic feature is missing and at this point just port over rll4 passing at least it will get some element of attacking flow in to the game…
I did some more testing V1.02588 on steam for the rucks and it is playing pretty good, but the Y contest is still useless or I have not figured out. You can do 1 player steals at the ruck, just bind 1 before the opponent and quickly press steal, you can do this with 1 -3 players depending on the situation, the problem is the pushover and the steal are the same animation. So when you do a 2-3 player ruck push over by either binding 2-3 and then pressing steal this animation looks ok when the offensive ruck has 1-3 players, what does not look good is when a 1 player steal, (results in the same animation) instead of stealing and maybe getting tackled or setting the ball back to a teammate , the one player doing the stealing does a bulldozer animation that goes through 1-3 offensive players, when its one player the animation is ok , when its 2 maybe, it could happen, but when its three opponents in the offensive ruck and 1 defensive stealing player runs three player over like a bulldozer, it looks ridiculous, so the bind and steal, and bind, bind ,bind, pushover is working fairly well,(like the tutorial) but the animations do not match for the 1 player bind and then steal. That is what is making the rucks look repetitive and unrealistic at times, there is huge lack of varied animations for the ruck steal and pushovers,(it is the same animation over and over). That there is one of the biggest problems in the rucks at the moment, along with I have not found the intended use of Y contest to ever work. Standing animation tackle is to slow. There is a good rucking system there but needs more animations, and better functional use of the standing contested tackle and Y use. The number of turnovers I am getting are almost perfect now, and the amount the AI is getting is also good on hard difficulty with two fairly even teams. But when playing the rucks I concentrate on watching my opponent and determine how many I am sending into the ruck 0-3 and concentrate on the timing for the steal, or when to do an overpowering pushover with bind bind bind(no need to press steal ). Also, I noticed when focusing on the rucks, do not press the left analog in any direction that will make a difference how quickly your players inter the ruck on both offense and defense. (It will delay them, plus you can get called for offsides). You have to know when to only send one player in the ruck on both defense and offense, on offense for somewhat of a quick ball,
and on defense when you want to keep defensive players on the defensive line or conserve you players for a better defensive rucking opportunities in the following phases. Rucks are moving in the right direction, If Big Ant add some added animations for variety, and fix the indented use of the Y contested tackle, and add the ability to hold on on offense to counter the steal with a chance to be penalized, if they add the ability to add 2 more players to the ruck for a total of 5 max,(now I am dreaming) you can have a good system with this 3 button rucking system with more varied rucking animation and better implementations. The passing seems to be improving some, I use both icon passing. And quick double press passing. Finding pretty good support running, just make sure to control you sprinting, if not , you can outrun your support, you can vary your sprint as needed by always watching your supporting players, it is rare in real rugby that a player will pass out wide running at a 100% full out sprint, use the sprint to hit gaps and on breaks, but for working the ball up the field passing I normally do not sprint, it gives the supporting players more time to support and it gives you more time to see your passing lanes.
Having a lot more fun after the update, can’t put my finger on what’s different but it just feels better
The game is just too easy however, I feel like this will change dramatically once the AI does more than one pass
Playing on hardest in super rugby career as western force and comfortably beating everyone on shortest matches
I agree with you. Game is way too easy on hardest difficulty. Playing URC with Stormers and it’s so easy to win the matches and rucks. Ai almost never brakes a tackle. Passing usually is Ai short passing one out. Ball needs to spread more wide or mixed up with short or wide passes. Ai needs to Break tackles sometimes , offloading.
Injuries to Ai - Ai currently does not replace players.
Ai never seems to replace players, I assume the players on the field get low stamina as the matches go on.
I also looked at player stats. All player stats for all skills sets with licensed players all look standardised and similar/same for all forwards and backs. It appears as if no one has tried to really look at individual player stats as in real life. Could this issue also be causing problems with getting the playing difficulty’s and gameplay on the field realistic ?
Locking out anyone from editing player stats is also a negative. We should have the freedom to
Adjust these if we wish. This for me is a negative along with not being able to edit player appearances of players not face scanned.
Photo below of Scrumhalf Joe Powell from Montalbanaise Pro D2. The licensed player does not look anything like him. Joe is Caucasian with appearance in real life , Australian with curly blonde hair. I would love to be able to edit and fix the player or create my own but I can’t do that. I lodged a ticket this morning to ask if some of these players can please be corrected because I feel I have no other way to correct this. I would rather do it myself then ask.
These are my thoughts. I do really love and appreciate Rugby 25 but the above is impacting on its enjoyment and long term replayability.
**Can we please get some
Work done in the passing aspect of the game?? No support runners or people running onto the ball. We need switches and dummy runners to make attacking and defending actually fun. If big ant can focus on this first it would be ideal *
