I never got the chance to play the early access but I followed along via YouTubers but today I finally got my hands on the game. I have played quite a few games now in between some crashes. The game I have found to be enjoyable but at times frustrating.
I have like many others encountered the passes not going to my intended target but instead to the touch judge or the dirt. I also find it annoying that I can be tackled quite easily by an offside AI player killing any momentum I’ve gained. The issue which I witnessed during the early access where anyone was taking on the role as a scrum half seems to have returned. I have also been playing some career mode but encountered when I confirm my team none of the changes actually happen so when I play as Scarlets my whole bench is backs and therefore my forwards are fatigued to the point they aren’t useable by the end of the game. It also feels the only way to make any ground is to just pick and go with the scrum half (or whoever is there) and hope for the best. These are just some of the negatives I have noticed but many others have already been noted within the forum. I hate to write solely about the negatives but there are many negatives that I feel need fixing before I could confidently say this game is the finished product. I understand you guys at BA have but many hours of work into this game and I’m sure the rugby gaming community thanks you for this and I hope in the weeks and months to come this game becomes one of the best if not the best rugby game we have seen. Game won’t seem to launch on Steam Deck anymore
Erm. Im disappointed.
Firstly, i have a pretty good pc, i play everything on max settings. I played EA with no issues. But this full version i am getting 15 fps? I now have to tweak my grass settings!?
Positive. The presentation. The game looks amazing.
Negatives. Not sure where to start. Many of the same issues from EA, the rucks: this rucking system, we have talked about this since EA1, the lineouts: cannot compete, passing: going behind players, often to nobody.
Not sure what the hell is happening with offsides with almost every turnover, incorrect kickers, player names/positions incorrect.
Ai making stupid decisions, multiple penalties in my 22 at 0-0 and kicking for touch. Why are they not kicking at goal. Ai down 7-3 with the clock in the red and they kick it out? One up running, why will they never spread it wide?
I played RWC2011 last night so i could compare on this release. You cant compare, its literally not even close.
I will continue to support rugby 25 and big ant, but im baffled. This game was supposed to release in 2023. With big boss Ross apparently playing this in his office? Its now 2 years later, after 8 months of EA and i still feel like we dont have a game that represents the sport.
Anyone able to filter players for create a team? Or select players? Because I can’t.

Super odd how we now have a game that has graphics and presentation 200% better than rugby 22 and gameplay that is 200% worse than rugby 22. How on earth did this happen? It seems like some of the team worked their asses off… and I feel bad for them. This has been in development for so long and it is truly shocking. Nothing that would obviously make a rugby game fun is included in this game. So, so, so bizarre. When I boot it up and look at how pretty it is I get so excited, and then play it and ugh… just baffling.
I am still hopeful they can do something with this. I am shocked for sure, but who knows what they can do moving forward. I am definitely going to support this effort and have no intentions of refunding anything. Please just keep at it big ant, half the game is absolutely unreal compared to what we’ve had before. Just need to find a way to make it more complex and enjoyable.
I find it hard to find any news of what is happening, does anyone know of another patch or anything coming?

I have been part of the EA group since the start, I really had high hopes that the game would improve on full release. Sadly apart from the few aesthetics, the game hasn’t changed much. I hope that we will still see some major updates to get things fixed. Most have already mentioned all the major things, I have a small list below of things that still hasn’t been fixed since EA. Please look into these:
- FPS is always below 60 now.
- Grass looks terrible.
- Home team still runs out first before away team.
- Penalty kicks for goal gets taken by random players (forwards and backs)
- High tackles that will clearly be red in real life seems normal and doesn’t even get a penalty or yellow at least.
- Quick throw ins happen automatically
- Cant mark the ball in your 22 area. (I picked up for a few EA this wasn’t working anymore)
- 50/22 rules does not work.
- Scrum half does not get penalized for being offside. But random offside get blown on turnovers.
- When scrum half is at the ruck, you cannot play the ball, because he waits for another player to act as the scrum half.
- Had an injury after the 80th min that just stopped the game.
- The one team I played with was the Bulls, the logo on the kit was two colors which isn’t correct .
Like I mentioned these are just small things I picked up and most of them was issues in EA already. I wont go into player positioning, running lines and rucks etc. I think you know it is not where it should be. I just hope a decent patch is not too far away.

Is anyone else unable to finish a game right now? I’m on ps5 and can’t get passed the 60th min, submitted a ticket. Hope this fixed soon, ruining my experience atm!

Quite sure those smaller comp were incredibly easier to reach and probably didn’t even ask for money. On the other hand EPCR for sure asked for quite a lot. Not sure what’s about currie cup.
The same happened in my first quick match kn PS5, then tried again and it played fine
I really wish I could be positive but this game is dreadful.
Wonder what the point of EA was. No gameplay feedback taken into consideration at all.

Rucks have to be a minigame. Relying on stats and luck for a turnover just doesn’t work. You have to be able to earn a turnover. That one mechanic would actually make the game a bit more playable.
Yeah, tbh I actually just feel bad for the team. This is bad, really bad. I don’t see a world in which this is something they wanted to put out tbh and I presume they just ran out of money.
Licenses etc are great (though some of the ratings are seemingly entirely random), but the actual game itself is just not fun.
I can’t really be bothered giving detailed feedback again at this point, because everything has been covered in the EA threads, but I’m not sure that there is a single part of the gameplay that is in a good place. Rucks, tackling, passing, AI etc is all just not good.
I respect the ambition, and I’m sure everyone has worked really hard on this, but yeah… Sad.

Blame should go to Nacon and senior management at BA. There are no excuses for getting even the trailer wrong. Maro Itoje being fullback. How do you get that wrong. It’s like calling a scrumhalf a dummy half. Oh wait that’s happened.
