Rugby 25 Megathread

Ver: 0.2746 PC Feedback.

  • I had a ruck on the left side of the pitch close to the touch line. Two of my player run the left side of the ruck and are standing in touch. I press RB to pass the ball right and my scrum half passes it left to the guys in touch.

  • After scoring a try close to the posts the closest I can take a conversion is just inside the 22 meter line. When the AI scores a try under the posts they can take the conversion from about 10 meters away from the try line. It makes no sense why I can’t do the same. Even in real life you see how close they take conversions from.

  • I find that my players leave gaps in the defensive line a lot more than the AI does.

  • I saw the AI pass a tiny bit more but not so much. One time they did an offload pass while being tackled.

  • Passing from the ruck is still too slow. My players arrive join the ruck with my scrum half and I am pressing LB/RB nothing happens, I wait 5 seconds then I can pass. My scrum half has already been standing there for 10 seconds.

  • Having my player in the pocket and when I pass to them they run onto the ball defeats the entire purpose. I want them stationary so they have time to load up for a full distance kick.

They update is fine but not enough for me to be hooked onto the game. I play 2 or 3 matches then put the game down until the next update. I remember AI doing more offloads during EA. I don’t know where Big Ant goes from here, bi-weekly updates don’t really bring enough changes but the monthly updates in EA were hit and miss as well. And if it missed then it was a lot of waiting and hoping the next monthly update would fix it. I hope it all comes good.

You mean when the player who passed and the same player ran through the gap?
If so then I’m guessing he fancied a sprinting contest with the winger out wide? :rofl:, I bet if I didn’t pass though I would have got tackled by the player on the left lol.

Ai difficulty has to be fixed. They need to forget about any of the other stuff for the next patch and make the game challenging. At the moment i cannot play more than one game as after beating a team 40 - 0 i just cant bring myself to play it any longer as what is the point. For me if this was fixed the game would be playable.

Playing V1.0.2750 on Xbox Series X. Followed the thread for some time but wanted to add my thoughts. Firstly, this game was nowhere near ready for release, but I’m actually enjoying jumping on and trying the new updates when they are available. The game is still some way off the product I’d hoped for but it’s passable. Main issues for me are the continuous offside penalties for no reason, players frozen out of position, the passes into touch, AI not offering any real challenge and most annoyingly the long rugby league whistle blow. Great to see us getting 2 weekly updates, I just hope these continue until a time where the game is worthy of its price tag. Lastly, anyone else experienced the random green haze??

Feedback on Yellow Card Sin Bin

I thought this was programmed well to make it quite realistic. Good work Team.

In 2nd half , Replacement Hooker No16 Vernon Paulo Yellow Carded for high tackle. The scrum had to pack so a benched prop Laurence Victor No1 came into the field. Fullback Michael Annies removed from the field and put on bench so Cheetahs still only had 14 players on the field. This was realistic and well done. I can only think the No2 Hooker Fourie was not put back on the field as he had low stamina which to me is ok. Yellow card timer also great to see

Sometimes I still think a yellow card should be issued for every high tackle. This is what happens in Rugby matches unless it’s deemed a penalty. Not sure if we will have sliders to control these aspects in the future ? For instance a slider for Yellow Cards for every tackle or slider for a Yellow card issued once 3 high tackles occur ? Just my thoughts. But well done on this aspect of the scrum needing to be packed with correct players. Lastly I like the menu stamina bar appearing next to players names. Thanks Team

Just spend a whole half defending, even pushing AI back to their 22 and they didn’t kick. When I get the ball the passes float away to touch

I agree with some of what your saying but who are you aiming these comments at because I think most of us here apart from a select few are providing feedback which is what the development team wants, I’ve spoken to @Lachie_BA privately and they have thanked me for the detailed feedback with GIFs as it helps them find the bugs in question.

If this isn’t aimed at the ones providing feedback, then accept my apologies but if it’s aimed at people providing feedback then that’s what the forums for.

Not new to the most recent patch, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tackle over the try line that hasn’t just been held up. IRL, it’d go to TMO with a decision on grounding, any other infringements etc. In Rugby 25, your man just makes the TMO hand sign and then… dropout.

Would be interested to hear if anyone’s seen anything different. Ideally, we want the direction/movement/grounding of the ball to be something the AI can understand in every context throughout a match.

Nah, every time I’ve been tackled/tackled an opposing player over the line it’s 100% been ā€œheld upā€ for me too, be great if they went to the tmo and the AI judged it a try or not, I’m sure @Lachie_BA can feed that back to the development team for us?

AI still just pick scrums and when their in your 22 they go for 3 points same it’s been since last update. So once again update with patch notes but only one thing was worked on and that’s the half time subs

The game is obviously a mess in many different ways, however, the absolutely essential thing they need to fix to take the game from unplayable to playable is passing. The glitch passing makes this game unplayable. Triggering pass and the halfback takes a step and then passes, the random sky ball passes and the offside call after offloading from the ground is gamebreaking.

This should be the number 1 priority, followed closely by player speed entering the ruck. Everything else after this is annoying, but not gamebreaking.

Cob, I get why you’re asking everyone to be patient and give the developers a chance but at the end of the day this forum is here so players can give constructive feedback on the game and the patches so the developers can take that on board and create a game that everyone or majority is satisfied with and feels is worth the money that they have paid.

The developers have asked for feedback? Would be different if they didn’t and weren’t actively trying to improve the game.

If you don’t like that or don’t want to see the feedback being repeated then maybe do yourself a favour and don’t check the forums as this is what it is designed for.

They have been asking for advice since early access 95% off the feedback that people are giving now is what all off us mentioned many times during early access, it’s at a point where even YouTubers are tired of this.

What makes it different now? So understand why some us are frustrated because we played an early access build for 7 months and we are still having the same issues about passing rucking mauls scrums lineouts AI and lack of set plays it all been mentioned time after time.

Then Ross even acknowledged that Tuesdays update was not good and would be rectified with yesterdays update but this update is actually worst than tuesdays update

Squeaky wheel gets the grease, the more that issues are brought up, the more likely they will be addressed and fixed

@Husky1 Relax mate. You’re entitled to your opinion and you have some really good points. Just saying there’s no point kicking off at people in a forum for giving feedback, when the whole point of this forum is to give feedback

Hope it’s for the Ai passing too. Ai really needs to attack , attack. Put pressure. I have not conceded a Try since game launch.

Nearly every game I play opposition at Zero points on hardest difficulty. If they lucky they get a penalty goal.

I appreciate Ross trying to get things fixed.

Feedback: Penalty Kick to touch

Seems like every time you kick to touch player still kicks left footed.

Surely that has got to be an easy fix.
