Please Big Ant, change the trophy for Networker? Iâm not generally an online gamer as I canât stand all the disconnecting and attempts at cheating going on. Still Iâve been trying to get the Network trophy for winning an online game.
Iâve been in winning positions quite a few times, only to have either the opposition disconnect their signal, the game freeze up or even had my game crash once (particularly annoying as I was in the 78th minute and about to score the winning try, so not the other persons fault).
Iâve tried letting online players back into the game so they donât want to quit until itâs too late, but no thatâs not working either. Iâve got wins registered to my name, but because it doesnât involve finishing a game I donât have the trophy. This is on PS5. 3.2% of players have this simple trophy a month after release!!!
I dread to think how Iâm going to get the âInternet Pointsâ trophy for 100 pts scored as Iâve already well done that, but with not having finished one proper game yet I have no idea how that one will happen.

Iâd like it if the Networker trophy could also be obtained by just getting 5 wins on the leaderboard as an option, because with all the quitting and crashing issues I canât see that one going my way unless I meet someone who wants to set up results with me!
I guess people are quitting out even more than usual because there is a lot of phasing through players and all you have to do is fend and it quite often happens that you just run through the defending player! So I can imagine people thinking theyâve just been cheated against and quitting.
Online gaming trophies are often more trouble than theyâre worth. So subject to the whims of others.
A solution would be great!
Anyone else that got a 5 meter Scrum, after tackling the AI back over their goal line? I got my first scrum, @JNT_BA have you guys implement this in these few days?

Things that are still killing this game for me:
Scrums - penalty after penalty, i dont even try to interact with the scrum anymore just to not get stuck in the penalty loop
Offloads leading to an offside call. Are these being mistaken for forward passes and called offside, because every replay I go into they are not forward passes!
Rucks - still no idea whats going on. Numerous clear situations where i should be winning the ball due to isolation and nothing. There needs to be a jackling animation of the first man in or the tackler getting up to steal the ball. And when I win a turnover its not obvious, leading to me box kicking half the time as Iâm still trying to steal the ball
Player positioning still all over the place. Generally no idea who is getting the ball. And the fullback, the only time i see them is in rucks or catching the restart kicks and the occasional box kick, none of which they should really be doing (apart from the box kicks). I want my fullback in the attacking line 9 times out of 10 but they are never there.
Player stats - had a second row outrun the whole of the opposition back line over 50 metres, they were all running at the same pace, wouldnât happen.
Ai injuries and substitutions - needs sorted
I agree a lot of the mechanics need work but the scrums really arenât that bad
First timing is the triggers
Second timing is A
Subséquents are all triggers, or if you want to pick as the 8 press the timing when the bar is in the green too
I have noticed that on scrums, where you can tell the outcome is going to be a collapsed scrum you can beat this by tapping triangle on playstation 5 - to box kick the ball.
Yes you lose possession, but you do avoid the repeat of scrummages if you just want to get on with playing.
Difficulty definitely needs to be looked at. Just won the URC with the Ospreys on hardest Difficulty, winning 39-0 against leinster in the final. The cpu has occasionally scored tries but never more than one or two a game

I cant see how thats true. So you can have Jac Morgan listed in the team sheet with his shirt number etc. Then show the player with his likeness and shirt number, but arent allowed to show the name when hes selected in play? Surely the fact that youâre using his actual face scan means you already have approval, othwise it could be years before these teams are all fully licenced

- Sometimes when you pocket the 10, he runs on his own and you canât be controled anymore.
- Forward passes on offloads are punished by a penalty.
- Bump Off isntâ working (end camera)
GAME SUGGESTIONS
- Fend of maybe too efficient should be only for players with the right stats.
- More challenging lineups would be great
- Scrum system is quite punishing (hard to win a ball without collapsing)
- Still problems with AI choice (it doesnât look to use clearance kick 5m from its line but only when approaching the 22 line) and penalties (scrum chosen too often). AI isnât dangerous enough (make them harder to tackle ?)
- Ball loss (forward) on strong tackles (depending on tackle stats) would add turnovers !
- Up and under not working well
- We need the possibility to allocate custom stadiums to official teams
- Possibility to add custom players/ modify player
- Possibility of Fatter player would be great
- Condition the possibility of diving to score on the playerâs agility
- 2 types of tackles would be great : A low one that leads to no penalties but a chance of escaping from the attacker - a high one that stops the attacker everytime/ can make the ball drop but can lead to a penalty if low discipline.
- Easier or faster substitution would be a great addition.

Playing the most recent update and it feels like itâs starting to be much more playable, AI playing more and passing more fluid. Suggestions for improvement:
-scrums could be more simpler - difficult to complete
-kicking game is limited so havenât used it much
-turnovers very rare even of easiet level so huge amounts of time defending but no joy it in because thereâs not much variety in types of tackle, canât hold up, latching doesnât work canât drive people indirections in tackle - could do this 20 odd years ago on first RLL games
- canât take quick line outs
- No set moves for back line
- No set moves off line outs (players run in round to take ball off top up 5m channel or around tail into 15m area or between two pods or quick throw once lie out set to first man
- Support lines should give you an inside pass option most of the time
- Offload out of the tackle more like rugby 08
- Pre-wind up passes eg tap pass twice for a quick catch and passs
Hope that helps, definite progress though since release - I nearly never played it again at first.
Rucks The good / the bad/ the ugly
The good: 1.There is a good system in there.
2. First time in rugby game you see a good clear outI 3.
3. The 3-button system could be good (simple but deep)
4. They are happening at the correct moments most of the time
5. They do feel interactive in the sense that if you get more
involved you have better chance of a turnover.
6. Big Ant Seems to be implementing new things we are asking for
(like holding) just have to fine tune it.
The bad: 1. the animations should be flipped, the one man steal should be a
a quick steal with no push over effect, and the 2- 3 player
turnover at the ruck should be a pushover. The way it is now is
at the ruck is that these actions are backwards. The animation
for these actions should be switched
2. The AI does not get called for holding on ever. And there are
plenty of times I have isolated them and they should have
been called for holding on or they should have turned it over.
3. Its seem the bind, bind, bind (without steal) pushover is no
longer in the game. (keep it in)
4. Up to 5 in a ruck would be better
5. The more players you bind, the more time you should have to
play the ball. (but if you wait to long , you risk a counter ruck)
The Ugly: 1. The Y tackle , stand, steal jackle, is non existent, the animation
needs to be faster for this to work, offense could counter it
some by holding on.
2. There needs to be more infringing for both AI and User, (hands
ruck, holding on) Coming in illegally,
Simple system to improve current system (could work with current system)
- Fix the Y tackle, stand, steal/Jackle
- If you are first to the ruck (bind and steal) (offense can counter by trying to hold on. (it works now sometimes, but the animation is wrong, should be a simple steal not 1 vs 3 pushover.
- If offensive team only binds 1-2 players, and you quickly bind, bind, bind, three players then ruck forms, then the x button would work as a hand in ruck, with chance for sneak steal, or be penalized) (current animation already there). and Y button could be the safer option to try a for a pushover in the ruck. This would work on any 1 vs 1, 2 vs 1, or 3 vs 1, 2 vs 2, and 3 vs 3 with player stats and timing matters, Maybe have the controller vibrate for the perfect push window to do a ruck Y push over. Or some kind of gauge for the perfect pushover. But if you go over you get a penalty, similar to Rugby 2011. Risk vs Reward. The offense can match the counter push. To stop the pushover.
It seems like there is a good system in there, they just have to get the animations lined up with the action, and add a few items to the ruck, like hands in the ruck, entering the ruck illegally, holding on (tuned). Y contest tackler. A pushover button (Y,) separates from a steal (X) or if the ruck is formed (x) becomes a hand in the ruck /steal or penalty.
I will give Big Ant props that I am literally trying to change into the closest rucking player to go in there and get the steal, so the rucks do feel interactive, they just need the items mentioned above and match up the correct animation with the correct situation. Looking forward to the next update.

Is the international squad sizes going to get bigger because atm we can only select 30 but in real life for a World Cup it is 34 and more for other comps
I checked in with the team on this one - this was intentional, though it will be changed in an upcoming update.
The format calls for invitational spots - and while this has been just Europe and recently the occasional South African team, it was opened up to the rest of the world to give more variety in career mode in the game.
But clearly people find that odd for the Europe cup - seen a few comments on it, so it seems it feels more like a bug to people than a fun bonus comp for people managing MLR and other leagues.

Hey Matt, Just downloading the new update on steam. Pretty big at 6.4gb any patch notes before I play it?
New patch feels the exact same, with all the major issues still there and still incredibly easy (beating NZ 80-0 with the Sharks on hardest).
Too easy to offload and fend especially.
Would say it is nice that it seems like the player names in the UI are now fixed!
Patch notes releasing is one of those complicated things. As we have to work with people in other countries with time zone differences and the like. Sometimes it can take a little time. They will be posted as soon as they can in accordance with all teams involved. While we (Matt, Lachie or I) post the notes here, itâs a team effort which means sometimes it can take some time to publish once everyone is ready and signed off.
