Get the super contracts
Challenges are not working.
Progress isnāt tracking etc
This is where fatigue and individual attributes can play a role, for example players unable to get into best position, drop off tackles, situational awareness lessened⦠I explore options like this in depth in the RL concept document I provided in an earlier post for Bigant, which even breaks down into preset shapes and structures for both attack and defence which does include similar ideas, such as your compression of defence line. The playstyle templates I offered up also highlight where other counter styles can and how to exploit these opportunities.. but fatigue and player attributes being noticable in game is central to its effectiveness.
Incase you did not see it and if interestedā¦
For Pro Teams? They do track and will complete, though not immediately. They seem to take a day or two to update.
Yeah I do not even have X or any socials so I rely on this forum or the Steam page for information and there has been nothing. When you pay for a product and it changes, you would expect to be able to access the product information.
This platform was built specifically as a forum for their games so it should be the centre of info tbf. Maybe they donāt want feedback actively this time. Or maybe the X aggro feedback is the feedback they love
I take back my comments on driving players in tackles should all be counterable.
Not all are counterable when speed and power and various other factors meet.
I guess I just get salty when they happen to me lol.
I have been trying to purchase PTC points for 3 days on PC. When I select the bundle it says ācompleting purchaseā and then freezes. How can I purchase points on PC?
Pro Teams online matches are getting so fustrating. When you verse an opponent who plays even close to a Rugby League style game its enjoyable. Though most opponents are abusing the āmetaā of tackle breaks, chip kicks and dummy half close to the line. Every game thereās a step and linebreak most tackles and were just going end to end. No set plays, moving the ball to the wings, turning players under and such. Every so often ill verse someone who kicks a field goal every set if they dont score to get the ball back and why not when you can just go 100m off the kick off again. Forwards need to be slowed, steps need to be about 30% as effective and the whole defensive system needs to be rebuilt.
The defensive line needs to tighten up, we need to be able to sldie the whole defensive line left and right, attacking players need to run lines. Iām trying to enjoy this game and it does have itās moments, but ots feeling so empty and unlike rugby league.
While im at it, what is pro teams supposed to be? Im the target audience for this mode, love FIFA ultimate team, love rugby league and a fan of the pack opening model. But this lacks the hook. There are no unique cards, where are the legends, Origin editions, team of the week cards and such? Even the menu is laterally blank. Show me some content! Even the challenges are empty. I dont just want packs. Give me a challenge to score 20 tries with Wests Tigers players to unlock a Benji Marshall club legend card. Play 15 games with Tom Dearden to unlock Wally Lewis 2
The player selection in defence is absolutely horrible. Every time itāll pick the player I donāt want it to pick. It was better a few patches ago. Itās doing my head in. Iāve literally been leaving it up to the AI to do the defence because half the time it will select the wrong player and Iāll open a huge hole up because Iām assuming it will have selected a different player so Iām not moving in the right direction.
Also When moving out of marker in defence it does this thing where the player goes out the opposite direction to what you want it toc then you have to do a little loop around the play the ball which takes away the whole shooting out fast from marker.
dont buy points, why would you support this game currently in its blatant attempt of a scam.
Gday, Are they going to add the international teams? Was surprised they werent available.
I hate to bring up a 13 year old game up again but I canāt help it. I further ruined 26 by booting up RLL2. Itās unbelievable how much better this game actually is.
I think I have figured out the problem. We are dealing with an engine built way back in the early 2010s. Of this I am pretty sure. Itās been polished visually overtime, but gradually as they have added things start turning messy. If anyone knows about Creative assembly and the total war series engine, you will get the drift. It becomes bloated and the problems get buried in the code so bugs ect appear in each iteration.
Beyond that I bet RLL 2 was likely a more complex, money draining and time consuming feet to build.
Overtime they have stripped gameplay mechanics. These are things like high and low manual tackles. Something that sounds benign but when you go back and play it is pivotal and immersive. Hitting a guy low can cause a knock on, a big hit can cause one also. A high tackle can stop an offload etc there is an actual reason to do these. Also when barge over tries happen there is a chance of a ball spill and happens in realistic ways.
Also the stat system is not grouped pike they chose to do since live 3. Itās an obvious short cut to make player building quick. But it is at the cost of unbalanced players. How speed is linked to kicking distance and so on. I am sorry big ant, but in all honesty you should have just released live 2 with the new coat of paint.
I am looking at the same game anyway. Most of the animations ect are identical even back then and sone even look better. For example there is no teleporting of defenders. This because these things have been plugged into an old engine and it causing bugs. Itās obvious, I know this is common and unrealistic to think you would build a whole new engine everytime. But this time it looks like it was rushed, this current game is very underdone. I am not hating at all, I appreciate that you guys are doing something in this space. But please for the love of God go back to the base build and start again. I would prefer you overhaul just the kicking or something next time and reintroduce the slow motion kicking.
The more I watch skilled players playing this game the more Iām convinced it is going to be the best League game ever.
Sure it needs tweaks and fixes but the more I play and discover things and grind to learn how to play effectively without cheese the more satisfying it gets.
I genuinely really enjoy this game now.
And Iām a huge RLL2 fan.
I know itās not for everyone, but there are some out there who do like to watch AI v AI.
I am one of those and Iām really enjoying the game play atm. What would make it a lot better, for everyone I think, would be to see proper stats at half time and full time.
Not sure if thatās on the Devās radar at some point with these updates. Also a notification of when replacements are made would be good too.
Perhaps a cutscene showing this like in R25. Sorry I have mentioned that one already I think.
But yes I am enjoying the game.
I guess it depends, what level you play the game. It changes drastically, on amateur you can just sidestep and fend pass the defense, no need for hit ups. Hopefully the hit up functions the same on all levels, because if they are less affective on higher levels thene there is no purpose to use them on higher levels, I have not had enough time with the game yet, but I always play the game on different levels because you have to play the game differently depending on the level you play. But I tend to agree with what you are saying, on the higher levels if you play like a true league game , you have a pretty realistic depiction of the game, although it still has many things that need work.
Grubbers are terrible, no power in them and difficult to try and set up a good long grubber,
Seem like an easy fix, just make the grubber go further with skilled players.
Make the tackles more specific for high and low with both having the risk and rewards. Have a better system for try line defense and offense, even if means a quick mini game. Although it seems this has been improving with the updated. And it seems you can add an extra defender to help try to hold up a little better, but this should be better explained how you get the second defender to do this, better chance with right analog ?, better chance shoulder button and tackle? better chance mashing the A button? Or is completely random and by chance?
Sliders would also be very welcomed. That way the user can tune the game how they like it. Have RLL3 with sliders and I have it dialed in to play an awesome simulation like game.
100% this, when you stop trying to play this like old RLL games and start actually playing this game it is very good. Easily going to be the best.
I actually watched one today, first was just interested to see what it was like, kept watching the whole thing almost as it was entertaining tbh. It played pretty close to a decent footy game. Plenty of scoring, plays mostly made sense. Agree about the replacements notification. Atm they just run off the pitch mid play and you do not even know about it
I mentioned it in another thread about my issues with the pending pile but thereās clearly no one in this development team with an understanding of basic economics. I blindly assumed theyād have some way to combat basic inflation these games create but it would appear not. To answer your question, it would appear theyāve hit and hoped as far a target audience
No Team line up at the beginning of the game.
No Clive Churchill medal awarded in the grand final.
No stats during the season/game.
Commentary cuts out.
Refs whistle delayed when he blows it.
Give us the option to turn off high tackles/penalties.
Issue where the top try scorer isnāt award the Dally M medal.
No option to add logos to jersey.
No custom tournament options
No Rules changes like in RLL5 where you make it a 4 tackle set.
User interface when selecting your lineup when scrolling down to the bottom it should take you to the top except it takes you Halfway up the line up..
Hello Ross & Big Ant Studios,
Loving lots about Rugby League 26 so far and really appreciate the ongoing development and engagement, with that in mind these are a couple of ideas and suggestions Iāve thought of if you could look at please and potentially input into the game:-
-
Pro Team - Coach Battles - Tug-O-Footy - One for NRL v NRL and one for Super League v Super League weekly? Either replacing the NRL v Super League one or as well as? Reason being, as it currently stands NRL is always going to get majority vote, so even if a Super League fan (which I am, Wigan Warriors) it makes sense to go with majority vote and choose NRL in order to get the team reward
-
Pro Team - Challenges - Think itās a great idea to do the whole team of one tier as it should give those cards more / a value in auction house (for example, I was previously just quick selling all cards less than gold, if not gold included), team specific challenges i.e. field a lineup of 17 Canberra Raiders / Canterbury Bulldogs / Hull KR / Wigan Warriors players, for example, would boost this even further
-
Pro Team - Duplicate Cards - Would it not be better to allow duplicate cards to be held in card holding but not in any active 17 lineup? Or, worst case should be able to place a duplicate card directly on auction house straight away in order to get pro team credits?
-
Pro Team - More Auction House Filters - Ability to filter by position? And if value under āxā? Or if card rating is greater than āxā? As examples. Also, the ability to buy and sell consumables, kits and badges?
-
Line Breaks - Is it possible to code the player immediately left / right to follow in support if a line break occurs? So that thereās always at least one or two options? And along with this tweak the speed balance of all players? So as general rule of thumb a back would outrun a forward after a line break? And this should help with the support play options and opening up the field a bit?
-
Bunker Video Ref - Itās a bit too dark currently - Is it possible to make this the same lighting as normal gameplay?
-
Try Replays - Theyāre a bit too short and a bit too zoomed in at the moment to capture the build up play, would be great to see more of this in the lead up to a try - Is it possible to extend the replay timeframe to say 30-45 seconds? Or even allow custom time selection intervals in settings? I.e. off, on 15 seconds, on 30 seconds etc etc? And also have a more zoomed out view? Or again a choice on this?
I do firmly believe that with a couple of little underlying gameplay tweaks to the attacking system (passing, supporting and kicking), along with constant and more new weekly offline challenges and rewards, international teams, new kit and roster updates going into the game as and when, that it will be the best rugby league game to date, standout, with the abilty to be kept up to date and current for years to come.
The base platform is already firmly in place, I have had numerous hard fought grind out battles, both wins and losses, versus the CPU with the main highlight so far being taking Wigan to a 19-6 Super League Grand Final win over our most fierce rivals, St Helens, on the back of a tough season.
*Note, the above comments are all pre todayās patch release, not had chance to play today yet so apologies if some of this is already covered off in the new update
