Hi there, I like the 2026 kit update so far, I was just wondering if we could copy and paste jerseys from 2025 teams to their 2026 team, and could we have a Career mode option where we can pick between 2025 or 2026 teams and fixtures? Also, I don’t like L3 being the copy and R3 being paste for colours, could this be buttons that won’t change the colour position?
I’ve noticed that since the big update the other day that crowd figures have disappeared from the post-game stats now.
Another update, anyone know what’s been fixed/added this time?
Anyone know how to get a good custom difficulty thats makes the game 50/50 because every other difficulty just feels the same now ever since they introduced custom ones
I was so excited for the 26 update with it being Manlys 80th year and the Pepsi era home jersey. But they’ve left last years shorts and it looks wrong.

Since the last update the game seems to be moving in the right direction again. Having some fun playing on Pro, you do get the occasional 2nd or third skill move that will work against your opponent. The defensive players getting a little more involved in the tackle instead of standing around. We still get the annoying try line defender standing around while the offensive player pushes over for the try, put it is not as often, could be tuned even more for 2 or 3 defenders to get involved to cause a hold up over the line when the defenders are in a good position to do it, I sometimes play on custom settings were the defense is more aggressive but the fends, sidesteps, and hitups are a little more effective, it seems to balance the game out some. Would be cool if they had a button, that particularly sends a second or third defender into the tackle, it would possibly free up another offensive player for a pass, but it would be risk vs reward situation, in early versions of the game , it did seem to work that way, were you could hold on to a shoulder button to tighten the defense and it would bring in more defenders to defend against the pushover struggle try. Also, in past games there were more variations, of try or no try video ref, at times a defensive arm or leg would cause a hold up, or knock the ball loose for a no try. It made defense more fun to play on the try line. But at least this last patch seemed to make the game more playable and have had some enjoyable games. Looking forward to continuing improvements.
This game takes 1 step forward 2 steps back with every update. Custom difficulties don’t work. The defensive line is squeezed together and every tackle is a big hit or drive. Every back pack tackle results in a tackle bust. The new update the AI spams side steps and fends now. Just played a game on Pro diff and the first ten minutes, Teddy had a Hatrick off spamming sidesteps. Literally one play where he stepped 7 players. The AI gets constant fast play the balls but whenever I’m on offense, my average play the ball speed is about 10 years lol. Still players out of position, still many bugs with gameplay. Big Ant need to just stick with one game at a time and actually make it good.
Tried to start a Leeds Coach Career mode for 2026. I was expecting a Round 1 Betfred Super League game in Las Vegas
vs Hull KR. Instead I got some other fixture and different Ai opponent team in England. Can’t believe we don’t have the Super League with a Las Vegas fixture for 2026 !
Best custom difficulty for a 50/50 competitive game
This is my dream for the future of Set Plays in Rugby League games and probably Union games as well.
Back in 2011 Fifa 12 had a Set Piece creator and I knew instantly custom set plays were the future of Rugby games and once Rugby League Live 2 came out with it’s awesome new set play feature the next year I knew it was the future!.
Custom set plays is pretty ambitious for Rugby games but it is possible.
With these game options you can create plays for every zone on the field and for every tackle allowing for 93 plays in your very own Playbook plus set play modifiers with the Dpad allowing for great variety in the depth, speed and width of each play.
You can practice each play as you set it up which in itself can sink a lot of hours into getting plays right and stringing combinations of plays together.
Perhaps even having a defense AI menu with a bunch of pre set defensive structures to practice against or maybe even set up to play against in game???..maybe even defense could have it’s own custom setups so you could potentially set up unlimited gameplay scenarios for a Rugby League/Union gameplay sandbox of epic proportions!.
On top of that it could get even deeper with the potential for tactics menus for individual player tendencies for decision making all around the park and overall team tactics similar to Fifa but that’s something I haven’t put a lot of thought into yet.
Let me know your thoughts on this. It is highly ambitious but a man can dream lol.
Love the idea and your RAW videos. Wish RL26 had training somewhat as good a RL RAW, any chance on a good training video on how to correctly use and make the best use of the current in game set plays - it all seems a bit random to me
I’d love the option for my backs to jump in and scoot from dummy half, or at least have the flexibility for a back to scoot whenever its needed. When I’m on my own 20 metre line and need to create space, running a quick set would be helpful.
At the moment I can scoot with my hooker and have a back to jump into the dummy half role which is nice, but when he’s tackled, its straight back to the hooker rather than having 3 or 4 backs scooting in a row.
Unless this is already an option and I’m missing something?

When you sub off the the fullback, you can never quick select the incoming fullback (L1 R1, LB RB)
Surely this can be fixed ?? Very painful if you’re fullbacks stamina is low and needs to be subbed

Bought the game and it came yesterday. Found myself really disappointed with this for various reasons. It feels remarkably similar to what Rugby25 was on release, from the defence to the massive difference between AI and the AI on the human-controlled teams, to the passes and offloads. It sadly feels rather like a chore to play these games, which should not be the case when I’ve paid around £50 for this and the other BA games only to be continually disappointed in how janky they all currently feel. But I’m pretty shocked that there’s still only 2 international teams in the game, and I’m guessing that’s it for the foreseeable? At the moment, I honestly fail to see how this is worth anything over £30 unless there’s a whole amount of things going to be added in the very near-future?
Whenever I create a new career it says I have been selected to the team but it just auto-sims over the game day. I have tried everything to fix it, I deleted every download, I deleted all cloud saves and console saves, I deleted the game and redownloaded it but nothing has changed. Is this caused by an update or is my game just broken?
And is that better now ? If so, how long until it was perceived as acceptable by the community ? Seems that RL26 has a long way to go.
R25 has indeed improved a lot since release, but it started from very very very very far from a finished product. The Early Access and the Official Release were a mess. And the game still needs a lot of work to be imo considered as finished / more enjoyable.
It still has mixed feelings from the community. However, it seems that some people are enjoying it more than before, but still needs work as still some bugs / klanky things.
JNT is doing the best he can with the human resources he has for it…
Tbf, RL26 and RL titles seem more finished, but I didn’t play it in a while.
Regarding how long, well… Early Access was released Mid 2024, and a lot are still hoping for a lot of improvement. R25 Megathread on BA forum or videos from Mad Dragon will give you a good idea of the state of the game haha.
My ideas for Defense
I posted these ideas before but added a new part which would make it better so here goes.
L2 Controlled Movement. Excellent feature but would be even better if the whole defensive line was controlled this way.
I think this idea could cross over to the Rugby game as well.
Controls:
Tap L2 = Select closest player to ball carrier (Auto select nearest player could also be a gameplay option. Not just auto select but maybe holding L2 and having the nearest player selected automatically and compressing and sliding adjusting accordingly. )
Hold L2 = Compress Defensive Line - Holding L2 makes your defenders draw in towards the highlighted defender.
Hold L2 + Left stick Down = Advance Defensive Line and compress at the same time.
Hold L2 + Left Stick Left = Slide Defensive Line Left
Hold L2 + Left Stick Right = Slide Defensive Line Right - Depending on how long L2 is held it will affect spacing to one side or the other and affect your ability to defend out wide.
Hold L2 + Up = Retreat Defensive Line - By holding L2 and having your line set in the controlled movement stance having the ability to manually control the spacing and positioning of your defensive line you have the ability to create space on defense for a more hold your line and compress style or a get up and at em quickly with the use of the Sprint Button.
Hold L2 + R2 + Left Stick = Run/Sprint From Held Position - This allows the player to make the team sprint together from the point the position was currently controlled movement controlled by using L2 + Left Stick.
This would allow for more flexibility of how you play, you can play more controlled waiting for the attack to come to you or you can play more aggressively and put more pressure on the opposition and try to force a mistake. This would obviously mean using faster aggressive defense more but it means fatigue will be a factor.
This isn’t a criticism of the game. This is just me being amused at the inconsistency of some things.
Number 1) This was deemed not a try. Tackled short of the line. Apparently.
Number 2) Video Ref was called in to decide if this was a try or not. Multiple replays, each time showing the same thing in my eyes. I was resigned to it being denied … but nope, it was green-lighted. Apparently this is a try!
