TIEBREAK - Megathread

Can you please add a ball marker. It feels like aiming with the left stick is random. Mainly with the skill training it would be a big help. Let players decide if they want to use it or not just like in AO2.

Great update from the disaster of the last one, on hard difficulty cpu now returning in different spots,i had Alcaraz do perfect short dropshots on Nadal and he hit a winner off one and getting most back. CPU not hitting basic topspin baseline shots into the net anymore, example last update Jessica Pegula could not hit more than three topspin shots and all would go into the net and now she and other female players are getting everything back, also serving feels faster again. I really think the cpu was messed up last time with the way to power up was messing them up as well. This update is even better than 31 October update and Hard difficulty is way tougher and i was down 4-1 against Nadal before this post, now i will go back and enjoy the game again with the new adjustments.

Please developers you need to make an update immediately to fix the returns of the AI too fast and in the corners, that’s unrealistic and not enjoyable unless you play medium with AI with slow movements baseline getting usual errors at the net. Now there is no balance between player and ball speed, and again the serving has no effect at all!

You guys just need to practice,i am 61 years old and if i guess most of you players are in your 20’s and 30’s and should have better reflexes than me,i struggled for a while but am absolutely loving it on Hard difficulty,i am in the middle of a match me Alcaraz against Nadal and first 2 sets were tiebreakers and we are 1 set each with rallies that are just incredible. It really boils down to getting angles, also getting plenty of aces down the center, the cpu hardly hits the ball into the net now which was frustrating previous update as they hit into the net all the time. For me Hard is perfect at the moment and hope it is not touched.

i’m 58, fan of tennis videogames, my first Sampras Extreme😢, Tiebreak is close to become great but honestly yesterday i struggled to have decent matches with cpu hitting most at corners and baseline on serve returns, as i wrote before, less corners and more errors by it and it would be perfect and more enjoyable.

I agree with what you are saying to an extent but i am using World Tour Movement and never use triggers and i still get to most of the balls and switched off the serving meter, i seem to time my serves easier and get aces. You still have not told me what difficulty you are playing on,Hard at the moment is plenty hard enough for me and yes the cpu could hit more balls out but every time the devs try this the cpu goes to rubbish hitting basic shots into the net and cannot have a decent rally, now i am having quick down the line rallies and also over 20 shot rallies mixing the game up slicing and using shorter angled shots which are working well. I will have to look at what Medium and Expert look like now but for me Hard is near perfect.

ive been playing for 2 weeks only, testing on various difficulties, for me hard is best, but, repeat, cpu must hit out, cant wonder devs are not capable to fix this issue, indispensable for a realistic game, i dont want a replica of Top Spin 4, game loved/hated

full game with Al zero unforced error, regarding of the difficult and only hitting corners , so un realistic , its like developers are doing patches by trial and error evrery thursday, test it out properly and remove the al bombs

Weird thing is on release week when they were doing daily patches they did actually do a update for ai hitting out of the lines but it was far to extreme like every 4 or 5 shots so they obviously patched that but instead of just reducing them they seem to have borderline switched them off , maybe it’s how they are trying to make the ai harder? But I fully agree they need to happen just not ridiculous amounts. It’s a tricky balance but you simply can’t have a tennis game were the ai are programmed to never hit out , kills all immersion and realism, hopefully they will reintroduce then when balanced. Let’s not forget they switched off the players ability to hit out for a good few weeks then reinstated it pretty well balanced so hopefully it’s work in progress with the ai .

Game is stil boring. Ai return bombs. All ralies is left right , left right , right left .All is predictable. I think this game never make full potential. Sadly.

The AI on Hard difficulty is definitely not hitting left ,right anymore they are wrong footing me quite often and the the game is completely different to previous update, there is a lot of unfounded comments coming on the forums that are just not true and i have played at least 6 hours of the latest update with various players.

I tried again, just finished an hour of play, on hard, I’m Sinner against Medvedev, Zverev and Alcaraz, with the former I had fun, with the others they almost always return bombs on my serve, which has no effect on them, unrealistic and not fun, so strange that I can have decent rallies when the AI serves, for me this is a very good patch, except for the AI returns, the developers just need to fix that at the moment, later I hope they fix the lack of forced AI errors once and for all

Yes their is a lot of complaints that are just inaccurate. The ai doesn’t just bomb every return, they slice they mistime and give you a mid court return and yes sometimes they will time it perfect and just blow it rite past you ,as happens irl btw. They slice during rallies to mix up your timing and they better at returning at the net and covering the passing shot. Seriously people complaining just need to drop to medium and practice . Finally it’s challenging on the top difficultys as it should be ,yes we all agree ai hitting out needs to be sorted. Developers make sure you gauge the positive feedback which outweighs the negatives and don’t revert it back just build off this build . We don’t want top spin speed and we don’t want expert to be easy and smashing the hardest ai easily…

Everything you just said is spot on,i just don’t understand also why those players complaining don’t just play on Medium or just simply practice and vary their gameplay using different speed and angles. I like Hard difficulty and not obsessed with saying i can beat Expert to impress others ,we all are of different standards of abilities and reflex response time and should play on the difficulty level we are.

The AI bombing return of serves def happens with certain players. Zverev and rublev for example. Something just feels off in their reaction time, players with less heavy ground strokes still bomb it to the corner but with less power so some people notice it less and are less affected by it, but it is a problem.

AI aggressiveness is fine but the problem now comes with a lack of variation in play especially once the player figures out the pattern of the AI and it’s not that hard to figure it out.

The cpu is varying gameplay much more now, slicing, shorter angled shots, varying serving placement and return of serves and that is on Hard difficulty using at least 8 different players and opponents using World Tour Movement and never using triggers for sprinting.

they can add option for game and shot speed , same as NBA2k and fifa, so all users will be happy anf chosse what they want

Yes like AO2 then we can alter the different court speeds with fastest being Grass then Hard and Clay the slowest.

and all courts have same speed and all players have power , those things easy to rectify but they are ruining the game right now , they need to think about adding speed and power option better than patching the game 40 times till now
