Some players do wear ones the same color as the team sock, but most grip socks are white and you see them
Nah probably about 40% of players wear them. Mostly backs, but some forwards too.
That puts me at ease knowing you played and loved the sport! You get it we need a great game for this great sport best of luck Ross!
Hype train starts chugging again
Tbf people will always be positive when thereās communication, radio silence will always bring negativity
I feel like communication helps humanise the devs. Instead of a faceless studio taking their fans for a ride, we see a passionate dev team trying their best to give us a great game.
I was feeling pretty negative till Ross chimed in here. Now Iām feeling less negative. Hopefully they keep communicating!
I absolutely agree that devs shouldnāt be the one to communicate the state of the game. Iām a dev myself, I know what itās like to be under the pump trying to finish a project, and I do not envy the Big Ant team right now!
However, I feel Iāve been missunderstood. My point was that communication helps alleviate the soreness caused by delays and subsequent disappointment. When developers donāt communicate, the fan base festers. Iāve seen this happen in a handful of other communities, and itās a great way to foster a negative attitude towards your studio and dev team, when theyāre working as hard as they can to give us the best game possible. Otherwise people get lost in the fog of endless delays and canāt see the forest for the trees.
If you know what I mean ![]()
I get the feeling that sometimes communication is never enough.
The superfans can be quite demanding and if you drip feed them things, they grow more impatient and demanding.
Has anyone seen the early access gameplay of Tiebreak? The player movements and animations do not look great.
I know itās early access and I am not sure how finished the game actually is, but does this make anyone thatās seen it nervous for Rugby 24 movements and animations?
Do you think the price should also reflect this, as in fans should be charged the price of a triple A game and would you be willing to pay that price for a game that potentially wonāt be up to that triple a standard. Not a dig just curious by your response as I admire your optimism on this forum.
Yes. And thatās why I said āI am not sure how finished it isā.
I certainly do not expect perfect games early access, but would have thought core mechanics like player movements should look/feel good at early access.
Seems like a tough mechanic to completely overhaul, but not sure.
I agree. It depends on the type of game. For a half decent rugby game, the answer is yes cause we donāt have one.
I have rugby 06, RC3, RC4, and Rugby 22. Even if it is not triple A worthy, I will pay whatever the price is going to be because Iām 100% sure it will be the best rugby game thatās ever come out, given its competition.
If you compare it to rugby league 4 does it look better Atleast? If the answer is no⦠then I think it is a problem. If itās better⦠then all good.
From what I saw from the game play. A lot worse than RLL4ā¦
That being said, it is a different sport and the players donāt move the same. Tennis have to make them move horizontal vs mostly up and down in rugbyā¦might be harder to have a player lock onto the tennis ball too.
From what I saw, the tennis players move very robotically and the players are running all over the court just to get to a hit a simple return right in front of them. Also often run past the ball and donāt hit it.
Look up some gameplay and let me know your thoughts
Iām not sure tiebreak is a good comparison for player movement. Iād compare their AFL23 game for that. I have no idea about that game but the sport in general is closer to rugby than tennis is.
Yeah yāall are 100% correct when I thought about it more. After watching AFL23 gameplay, the movement looks good. Maybe tennis just isnāt their thing.
I agree completely. The breakdown is very important. I want it to look like a real ruck, but not some weird gimmick where it takes 5 seconds every time for the ball to pop out.
Set pieces are very important too, as well as scrum gameplay.
I have massive expectations and no patienceā¦
This should go wellā¦
You are definitely correct. They have to really get the pods right and ability to pass out the back.
I also agree that when a player is facing one way, they should not be able to make a long pass in the opposite direction. Only time the pass should be available the other way is for a very short switch pass.
I like the idea of a flat pass option, but it should also punish you at times if youāre over using it, making a higher probability for the flat pass to be forward.
I think the best way they could implement the NH vs SH play style is having a tactics option.
NH teams will have a more kicking focussed game vs the opposite for SH. But you do have the option to change it yourself/adjust the tactic mid game.
