Cricket 24 - Megathread

One things I would want that the games improve upon amongst other things is the Broadcast style presentation:

  1. Broadcast style camera angles…art team must closely analyse camara angles in real life matches so that they can replicate it in the game including the cut scenes

  2. close calls must not be limited to run outs.it must include: a)close boundary saves (infact with claimed fielding overhaul, BA can add a mini game to save close boundaries i.e. fielders near rope will have to time the dive and push specefic buttons at the right time to save the boundary)
    b) claimed close catches must also be referred to third Empire

3)There should be broadcast style stats

  1. with so many actions…in game side by side action comparison would look very cool

  2. art team can try with in-game news of other game if the match is being played in a multi team tournament.

6)new cameras such as spidy camera must be introduced in the game

  1. with photogrammetry in place…players should be introduced with their in game model…like in fifa games

  2. other graphical indicators based in real life games can be included such as bat speed etc

  3. boundary length etc shall be shown at the start of the game

  4. intro of the game( even the music) must be inspired from fifa 23 and real cricket 22…pre match build-ups in major games would be very nice

  5. stats such as boundary length etc are must

Such other similar elements must be added to make the game look like real game as much as possible…

Some other minute but necessary tweaks

  1. player must wear thigh pads…they look very unrealistic otherwise

  2. backlift and stance of the players look quite identical…there should be variation

  3. atleast licensed players must have unique physique true to their real life counterpart

With the EA FC24 trailer already released and the game set to be released in September, it is natural for people to compare Cricket 24 with FC24. We are aware that the budgets of these two games are significantly different, but we cannot expect Cricket 24 to look like FIFA 18-19. Two of the most noticeable differences between the two titles are the animations and graphics.

BA has been working on animations, and I hope that they will be significantly better than those in Cricket 22 and even AFL 23 (small animations like batsman re practicing the shot which he missed etc. can make the game look more way more realistic ). When it comes to graphics, one thing I have observed is that the licensed player models in AFL 23 look close to EA titles, but the main difference lies in the facial animations. The art team should focus on making the movement of facial muscles look more realistic.

Furthermore BA can work on outfield detoriation as well along with improving on the pre existing pitch detoriation…for eg if a player has dived and saved a ball near boundary…such marks must remain on the ground throughout the match… having already talked about improving upon 3d grass, BA needs to work on grass length as well…it sometimes seems to be too long…art team should really work upon these minute details

One Feature I have been Messaging and emailed to Support long ago was A better match Simulation engine

Right now Chasing teams wins mostly all Matches without Much trouble specially in T20 they chase the target of 200+ 99 percent times without even Loosing More than 2 Wickets that needs to be changed depending on Pitch skills Of players different results Should be There rather than chasing team winning all the time with their Players scoring 100 each and every match And No 5 doesn’t even need to bat in 99 percent matches

@JNT_BA

Much Needed Features for the Game

Better shots and animation while Coming Down The Track hitting lofted and grounded shots need better animation specially straight down the Ground .

Draft or Auction Option For All Leagues

Better Bowling Actions Specially for Leg spinners

Better footwork from Batsman while Playing spinners

Better simulation because In Current match Engine If we Simulate The matches Almost everytime Chasing team wins Specially In T20 they don’t even loose more than 2 Wickets most of time while simulation that needs a change For sure depending on Pitch or skills Result should be different Right now chasing team always wins Even when chasing 200+

Batsman Celebration Customization option Should be there when he scores a 50 or hundred and 150 200

Better Seam Rotation for Off Cutters leg cutters And Spinners Right now

Slow balls of 150kph Pacers in cricket 22 Were around 140 that should be changed it should be changed to atleast 20k slower for every bowler when bowling slower ball

Rankings & Stats: There should be Ranking feature available in Cricket 24 Career Mode Every team’s and player ranking should be available That adds extra Spice and fun to Play so we Can take our player and Team to the top
All Player stats should also show in Career mode

Manager Mode/Coach option should be there in Career mode may be after playing for Certain time like 5-10 years we can choose if we still have to play as players or quit and decide to coach or manage the team that would be great option

10)Better 360 shots Now that You have Mumbai indians With You May be Try And Add those 360 shots from SKY in the game along with Pull shots of Rohit Sharma

Career Mode: If we manage to Become Captain in Career Mode we should be able to Select The Players from Domestic Circuit for any Series or Tournament By checking Their Stats and recent Form And Fitness Or Atleast top 100 players should be available for selection from Domestic Circuit before start of any series or Tournament for us to select when we Become the Captain

Better And New commentary with New Lines , Landmarks like 50 or 100 Wickets or Century numbers should be mentioned In commentary and the Back end of Match specially T20 Commentators May get excited And Commentate In louder Volume Like real life

Better AI batting and bolwing The AI should be little better they should play according to Situation in Higher difficulty level Right now they either just go Big for Boundaries or Just singles even in T20 match Last 5 overs They should hit the loose balls but also play singles to Maintain run rate Specially while chasing

@JNT_BA please Just note these

I’ve got a very minor tweak, but it’s something that I feel impacted the realism of the game despite being a minor bug.

It’s to do with fielders around the bat, so short leg, silly mid-on, silly mid-off. Generally speaking, those fielders stay where they are, they might move a step or so. In-game (Cricket 22) however, those fielders are able to cross from one side of the pitch to the other which is unrealistic and actually not allowed anyway. This doesn’t actually happen in real life. I wonder if there is any way to prevent this from happening. Fielders around the bat are relatively static, so it would make the game more true-to-life if they did that in-game too.

Thank you very much for releasing the game in Nintendo Switch yet again. On behalf of the Nintendo Switch cricket community, I kindly request you to add online cross play feature with Nintendo Switch users too. We have a community of good number of people who play Cricket 22 online matches in Nintendo Switch. If the cross play is added for Nintendo Switch and consoles/pc , I’m sure it will boost the sales in Nintendo Switch version too. Please kindly make it possible like the other games such as Apex legends, Fortnite, Matchpoint tennis etc.

@JNT_BA

Exactly…for the same reason ig animations and attributes for fielders fielding at different position of the field should be unique to such position…infact fielders fielding at boundary ropes also field like normal fielders in cricket 22 thereby sometimes crossing the boundary ropes and further do nothing special to make a close save of the ball crossing the boundary…

I noticed that in Cricket 22, there seems to be a peculiar issue where the sky appears to be at dawn during the toss and initial gameplay. Additionally, the floodlights in the game appear unrealistic when turned on. These aspects of the game could use some improvement to enhance the overall experience.

Aggressive grounded shot don’t work in Cricket 22. Also I feel chip shot to the covers is overpowered.

@JNT_BA As We Have seen that ea sports FC has showed us some footage of the game when we will see cricket 24 gameplay footage

ANY HINTS ON THAT…

it works but may be you were not able to figure out how !!
Let me tell you and hope it will help you

[ for Standard/Arcade Controls ]

Tap Right Analog in the middle of it (when you do it for advance down the shot)
Now Press Lb button now play the shot in which direction you want to play

It will go Aggressive Grounded :relieved:

Have special guest commentators. Get them to record the usual stuff but have them go off on a tangent and tell a few 5 min stores about their career or funny tour stories. Could keep it fresh and patch 2 or 3 in each month.

In Pro controls agressive grounded shot is mapped as L2 + R2 and direction button but it never works , the player aggressively lofts the ball. Not sure about the classic controls

Yes, online mode is not tuned for them. They are already aware of that

I don’t know as to what extent the fielding overhaul would effect the way the fielders pick the ball up but it is the very first thing BA must adress …for eg.bowlers getting down on one knee to field the ball lying just in front of them, fielders picking the ball with both the hands despite the ball being super slow …these things are the biggest immersion breaker… furthermore no. of animations like picking up the ball and throwing animations needs to be added…

I have been thoroughly working to gather every single aspect of improvement area in fielding, here are some things for development team-

  1. Enhanced Player Movement:

    • Implement fluid and realistic player movement on the field.
    • Incorporate more natural running, sprinting, and sliding animations.
    • Ensure smooth transitions between different fielding actions.
  2. Diving and Catching Mechanics:

    • Introduce a dedicated diving button for players to make diving saves and spectacular catches.
    • Include different dive animations based on the direction and intensity of the dive.
    • Add a catching meter or indicator to gauge the timing and precision required for successful catches.
  3. Throwing Accuracy:

    • Integrate a throwing meter or gauge that determines the accuracy of fielder’s throws.
    • Allow players to adjust the throw’s power and direction using intuitive controls.
    • Incorporate realistic physics to simulate the trajectory and speed of the throw.
  4. Fielding Positions and Strategies:

    • Enable players to set custom fielding positions for individual bowlers or match situations.
    • Provide pre-set fielding templates based on real-life strategies (e.g., attacking, defensive, powerplay).
    • Allow players to adjust fielding positions on-the-fly during the game.
  5. Fielding Abilities and Specializations:

    • Introduce fielding abilities and specializations for each player, reflecting their real-life skills.
    • Differentiate players based on their catching ability, throwing accuracy, agility, and reflexes.
    • Implement unique animations or signature moves for renowned fielders.
  6. Fielding Challenges and Training Modes:

    • Include fielding challenges to improve player skills and reflexes.
    • Offer training modes specifically focused on fielding techniques (e.g., catching drills, ground fielding practice).
    • Provide interactive tutorials explaining various fielding techniques and controls.
  7. Realistic Ball Interactions:

    • Ensure realistic ball behavior upon impact with the field, such as bouncing, spinning, or skidding.
    • Factor in pitch conditions, outfield conditions, and weather effects to influence ball movement.
    • Introduce occasional fielding errors or fumbles to add an element of unpredictability.
  8. Crowd Reactions and Commentary:

    • Incorporate crowd reactions for exceptional fielding efforts, including applause and cheers.
    • Have commentators acknowledge and appreciate remarkable fielding moments during the game.

By incorporating these ideas, the developers can significantly improve the fielding experience, providing a more realistic and immersive gameplay experience for all players.

If BA possesses licenses for approximately 50 stadiums from around the world as claimed, they have a tremendous opportunity to recreate the unique conditions of these venues. This includes capturing the authentic crowd noises and atmosphere, as well as factors like the dew factor, pace of the outfield, swing due to specific stands, and air density etc. Additionally, incorporating a few lines of commentary specific to each stadium would further enhance the broadcast-like presentation. To add to the immersive experience, BA could also include brief clippings showcasing the city where each stadium is located, similar to real broadcasts.

Furthermore, in AFL 23, the crowd animations are lacking, and in cricket 24, there is room for improvement by adding more diverse animations to the crowd. A small but delightful addition would be to depict the crowd’s excitement by showing them jumping for catching the ball when the ball goes into the stands after a batsman hits a six.Adding children to the crowd would add to overall visual realism of the crowd Additionally, introducing camera shakes during the pre-match buildup presentation would provide a nice touch of dynamism to the broadcast.
