It would be great to have more realistic batting styles. The only new one that is close to being realistic is style 9, so it would be good to see more added to the game
One thing I enjoyed from Cricket 24 was that I could edit the teams when I started a career. I could create my local club and opposition. For some reason they have taken this feature out of the 26 game.
we are unable to add license players to any team please resolve the issue please it’s frustrating everyone alot we are unable to add any players #Cricket26 ..
please resolve the issue as soon as possible unable to add any players
Why you remove club edit options in career mode. I could edit the teams when I started a career. I could create my local club and opposition. For some reason they have taken this feature out of the 26 game.
Can we have option of grass banks as seats in stadium creator Many grounds in south africa have grass banks, ranchi in india
Also crowd catch cutscene, player getting injured(like hobbling or clutching hamstring) or batter getting hit on the hand, concussed cutscene, it will really improve realism while playing the game
This was given out
! Big ants pls try to add physics for players and with the boundary line, without players going through them. @RossSymons @MattW
Hey guys couple of simple ones
-
At the start of a test championship would be good to be able to pick a squad to play the games atm it’s stuck with just the 12 players. A one day championship has this feature
-
management mode. At the start if you start with nsw you can’t pick the 4 day team squad and they begin no wicket keeper for the whole season and you can’t change it.
-
Management mode. All the players that play for Australia were able to play all season so able to use Steve smith starc ect every game in marsh cup ect
-
In test matches can the Ai be more proactive and change the field to stop boundaires hit in the same spot.
-
Hard pitches in test match Ai bowls a lot of bouncers which get called wide like 1 an over almost with fast bowlers
I’m sad, and genuinely sad. And I’ll assume this was mentioned before, I haven’t read every comment in the forum. I just tried placing the licensed players with their own bowling actions on Australian State sides so I could create a custom tournament and enjoy having them playing against each other, only to realize I couldn’t. I’ll just say this, I see the direction you guys are trying to take the cricket game, but please don’t lose sight of what makes any sports game really really enjoyable for the players. The community has done a fantastic job keeping this game alive over the years with the level of custom players we could choose from. In some instances, we depended on the community to keep the game updated. I don’t know what the strategic plan is for Big Ants Studios, but as an avid player of this franchise, I’ll say this - Two things can exist at the same time, it doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive. Of course we welcome the new player models and licensed players, kit, stadiums etc. But please don’t let it be at the expense of what truly made these games enjoyable, even with all the issues and bugs that’ve been there over the years. Don’t progress in one area to the determent of another. I feel very restricted as a player right now, in terms of what I can do with the game and how I’d like to enjoy it. So yes, it’s an amazing spectacle to see, but I feel like it’s losing that real enjoyment element with all the limitations on what I can do. And I always reference other sports games - On 2k I can create custom rosters, atm I play with GSW and my starting 5 is Wemby, Ant, Leonard, Donovan Mitchel and Draymond - And we have hell of a contest playing against each other. And that doesn’t take away from any licensed event or team, or tournament or online options that game has to offer. Please Please rethink what you guys are doing, all these locked players and restrictions are stifling my user experience and overall enjoyment of the game. I can over look a game with a few bugs here and there, but when there are continuous bugs and you’re also limiting my user experience and ability to create my own narratives, you’re significantly impacting my immersiveness in the game.
Can anyone help me understand the fielding?
My players are so slow to do anything.
Playing on Easiest, I get the choice of L1/R1, and press Circle to throw at the stumps, or X to throw to the player.
But here I chose R1, but it threw to the Bowler’s End (opposite of the icons shown). It was also really slow and missed the runout chance. What should I be doing here?
Bigant, ive been having a blast with Cricket 26, it’s a good game and heaps of fun to play. The gameplay feels smooth and engaging.
That said, there are a few gripes worth mentioning:
- AI fielding: they never miss the stumps, which is unrealistic.
- Bowling speeds: all fast bowlers seem to be clocking in the high 150 km/h range, which doesn’t reflect real-world variety.
- Squad flexibility: licensed players can’t be added to other teams, which limits creativity when building squads.
Overall, it’s still a fantastic experience, but I’d love to see these details refined in future updates.
Is anyone working on the South African franchise teams?
Latest update from yesterday………..they are now missing the stumps on throws as well, so seems like BA have fixed that. They now either throw direct at stumps, or attempt to and miss, or throw to the wicket keeper or bowler still at that end. Dont think ive seen a throw at the other end yet. But anyway, it SEEM’s to have been fixed the always at stumps thing, which was a must thing to fix of course.
Steam build v1.0.1422
So this my take out from the game, after all these patches:
-
Nearby runouts are always direct hits to the stumps, AI need to be handled
-
Once new batsman comes to crease, 19 *score is shown on his statistics. Same happens in start of the match for the openers
-
AI should act differently for all three formats. It act same for the T20, ODI’s & test matches
-
Sound effects of bowlers is not same for different cameras. It is loud for Batting FAR and lower for Broadcast or Dynamic mode
-
Ashes mode should have extra animations for bowlers, fielders* & batsmen as it is a special mode
-
Inner fielders position adjustment missing in T20’s and ODI’s. It should include “UP” option
-
Push shots should be added for PS5, Arcade controls as well. Players not using PRO controls are missing the Push shots
-
Injury animations are there, but need to be improved alot
-
Crowd cutscenes need to be improved. If an Australian batsmen is given out, AUS shirt wearing crowd is cheering. Although they should make sad faces
-
Boundary line physics for boundary stopping and catches need to be improved ASAP.
-
Fielder catching the ball over the rope should be given a six
-
Timing of sweep shots need to be increased more
-
Color of Pakistan ODI shirts need to be corrected and matched with the original ones
-
Add boundary rope graphics for Indian and other stadiums as well
-
Few Australian new players are missing in the Ashes squad and lineups
-
Lineups need to be corrected built in for the all licensed teams
-
Rain is not so prominent. Also should have a proper cover up / rain disruption animation with ground staff, etc
-
Wicket keeper glitches with the stumps, need to be resolved
-
Updated commentary is still missing
-
Left handed players getting right handed animation
-
AI not taking double and triples
-
The batting side winning the game and they are appreciating the loosing side but “in the air”. no players is visible with whom they are shaking hands and interacting.
-
fix the slight bug that is present in all new fast bowling actions, where the bowlers make a weird abnormal movement at the end, after releasing the ball
-
Player selection portion need to be improvised, you have to go back to the top in the selection window to make any change.
-
In Ashes mode, after losing a match, the interviewer asks, “What do you take away from this draw?” which does not make sense.
-
Throwing to the stumps when you are fielding in slow motion, is still not fixed as well. Fielder take ages to throw the ball
27. Replay zoom should be 1x more, in my opinion
28. Start match screen should have a stadium or any better background
29. Cant see difference in indian, england or Australia theme in game
Dont bother reading my post then! Lol……the direct hits to stumps has been fixed, or at least it seems to have been, on yesterdays update…
#26 - The slow motion fielding and throw… that’s my issue above. It seems like C22 and C24 had a ‘hold O and align’ thing for the quality of the throw, but I don’t seem to get that currently.
The fielding icon bar (blue meter on the right) doesn’t seem to always come up either… so I don’t know if something has changed or if I’m just not holding the buttons at the right times?!?!
I think this version of Cricket (insert number here) is easily one of the best out of the gate… Save for a few bugs. The invisible opposition player you tap on the back at the end of the game is annoying, nothing better than sharing condolences with mid air. The fact that you bowl someone with a rip snorter of a ball just for the bails to fall off but the stumps remain rigid posts in the ground. The fact that a rain delay is merely indicated by the batters walking off. Would it hurt to have a shot of the ground with covers over the square and some indication as to how long the game was delayed? But my biggest gripe is the licensing. In years past with other Cricket games I was desperately wanting real life players, teams and kits. Now that we have (more of) them, I actually find they are a detriment to the game. So, I want to bring Renshaw into my Australian test team because he’s carving it up domestically, but… not allowed. I can’t even get rid of players. I want to get rid of Cooper Connolly for Renshaw but no. I make a custom team. Now I can get rid of Connolly, but still no Renshaw. And that’s just one example. Sure, I can wait for people to make a version of Renshaw in the Community or I can create one myself, but why do I have to do this when all I want to do when I pick up the game to play is just simply swap players around. I’m sorry, but I’d rather sacrifice the licences you have and go back to the days when you’d (Big Ant) create someone called Matthew Ronshore and all I had to do was edit their name. If that means I can play the games better, mix and match my teams how I want them then give me that. I’m sorry, but I’m the consumer, I want to play the game my way, create the teams I want to see. If your going to tell me this is the set squad you’ve got and you have to play with them with no variation then, well, it’s not really a game is it, its just a simulation. Either that or just keep releasing different versions with each team based on real world performances, so we’d have an Australian October squad, an Australian November Squad, an Australian December squad etc. et al, for every team all throughout the year as form waivers and improves.
Agree about adding players to teams. I’m sure that will be back because I was able to do this when the game first game out.
I love starting a player career as a lower ranked player from domestic cricket and work my way into the team. Currently that player has to already been on the squad. Fingers crossed it comes back or I’ll have to go back to cricket 24 to reimagine Jake Doran’s career.
New update on Steam….
Boundary rope physics is also what we are demanding since ages..neither it will have till on the system as it will get activated only when the fielder or the ball touched it @JNT_BA @MattW
Arguably one of the best cricket games ever after these latest patches!![]()
Dear Big Ant Studios Team,
I hope you’re all doing great. I just wanted to share some thoughts as a long-time fan of your cricket games. Cricket 26 is honestly the best cricket game ever made — the detail, the atmosphere, and especially the Career Mode make it the most immersive cricket experience out there. As someone who genuinely wants the franchise to grow, I’m sending these ideas as a well-wisher and big fan.
Player Career Mode Suggestions
Start From Training: Beginning the career with training sessions — nets, drills, coach interactions — would make progression feel more real.
Role Preference: Choosing whether we want to be a batter or bowler, and then discovering our strengths through school/club matches, would be amazing.
Gradual Skill Growth:
No big turn or high pace at the start for bowlers.
Skills should feel earned through training and performances.
Cutscenes & Choices: Decisions with coaches, mentors, and selectors that influence our journey.
Stamina: Can be realistic
Team Dynamics:
Rivalries with teammates and opponents as an outcome of matches (running out a teammate/ taking wicket of an opponent or hitting for sixes).
Selection drama, being picked due to another player’s injury, or losing our place due to our own.
Leagues & Transfers: IPL auctions, franchise transfers, and dynamic opportunities.
International Player Ratings: More realistic and evolving stats for global players.
Manager Career Mode Suggestions
Scouting System: Ability to scout young players, review potential ratings, and track their form.
Budgeting: Team budgets for facilities, transfers, player wages
Pitch curating: Option to select pitch type for home matches to outplay opponents
Prematch analysis: Give a Outlook of opponent team and provide opportunity to select a suitable 11 with matchups, countering strength and attacking weakness
Auctions & Transfer Window:
T20 league-style auctions with budgets, bidding wars, and strategic picks.
Transfers during a proper window system.
Selection From Player Pool: Choosing squads from a list of players with detailed stats and attributes.
Committee-Based Selection:
Coach, captain, and selection committee each having a say.
Voting mechanics for major decisions.
Morale System:
Player and captain morale affecting performances.
Better morale = better results, realistic fluctuations.
Team Chemistry: Building a squad isn’t just stats — chemistry, confidence, and form can all influence match outcomes.
Gameplay & Realism Improvements
Hit Wicket: Adding this dismissal would be great.
Keeper Glitches: At times the keeper collects the ball unnaturally early.
Ball Pickup Issue: As a bowler, I’m unable to pick up the ball during fielding, causing missed run-outs.
Walk-Through Stumps: Players sometimes pass through the wickets.
Overpowered AI Throws: Fielders throwing at the stumps perfectly every time feels too robotic — missed throws, slower throws, and hesitations would add realism.
Boundary Catch Glitch: Fielders throwing the ball during celebrations while outside the boundary line.
Thank you for everything you put into cricket gaming — Big Ant is literally the only studio carrying this sport in gaming, and I appreciate the passion and effort behind every release. I hope these suggestions help in shaping an even better future for the series.
