New update - AI in expert is better now please dont change to much EDIT: Ai still make lots of unforced errors fix this and ai is great

I had a similar results. I totally agree with everything. Top spin OP, Flat OP, Drop shot OP due to weak AI, overall lack of risk in shots. Please send them this to the ticket. This is the best way how to get your message right to developers. I did this every time after last updates.

Problem is they did increase the shot and aiming difficulty and reverted it back in 24 hours… Now why ? who knows but decent guess it’s probably people complaining that it was to difficult, when people who actually practice and are willing to adjust enjoyed it mostly. So if they increase it they getting complaints,if they decrease it again it’s back to being to forgiving for the better players, the answer is extremely obvious and has been mentioned many times, Ps I don’t know if anybody who is destroying ai on expert is using gauges and meters but if they are then ofc you going to time things easier as the game is literally telling you when to release to not make errors etc . Turning them off will increase the difficulty and make it as hard as currently possible until hopefully they add custom difficulty asap…

This is my result against Sinner on Expert without any display assistance and using scramble only for rush to the net. And still, it’s easy to beat him. In first two sets I didn’t use drop shot too much. In the last one I used it frequently.

You are exactly right on this one, when i say i don’t use sprint at all i mean the general gameplay baseline ,mid court but i would use sprint for rushing to the net if the cpu gets a net cord or the occasional short shot but i don’t seem to ever react quick enough to use it anyway. I hate the cpu net cords that just hit the net and run directly down as i sometimes think the ball is on the cpu side when it has actually gone over.

i think there is no need to send them a ticket because i am on discord and Mike sees every message there! Right now i am just trying to “feel the temperature of the room” on how your guys feel about this update! @havastar for example seems to really like the direction right now? Btw i didn’t use sprint too in the last match against Sinner because you don’t have to if you have good anticipation on what you opponent will do next(which isn’t that hard right now) the thing is…the game is programmed around using the Sprint xD. It’s nonesense to limit yourself just because the mechanics in the game aren’t there! And even if i limit myself there are still the overpowered groundstrokes xD

Then it’s ok  I’m not at Discord so therefore I tend to send tickets. I’m just curious has Mike written something about intents for next updates?

Now about last update:
I think that they’re going in right direction. I like epecially faster and more effective serve, the tempo of the match and variability in play of some players like Sinner or Medvedev.

But on the other hand risk of shots is still low, return bombs are unrealistic, AI still couldn’t punish easy drop shots, most of the time has incorrect positioning at the net and is predictable about direction of the next shot.

That’s my review of last update.

So the first two sets were pretty competitive and you used a known exploit in the third and it was a easy set . I mean yea the drop shot issue is well known and unfortunately you going to have to police yourself and not exploit it otherwise we all know it will be a blow out set . But regardless the core issues are the user timing is to forgiving and needs to be harder and not backtrack when a few complaints,

I don’t understand where Discord is for Tiebreak to contact devs because i cannot find a dedicated Discord forum for it like say UFC 5 on Discord.

Tiebreak: Official Game of ATP & WTA - Community Discord this link should work?

Thanks for that i just got on,interesting to see different players comments on there and i saw a dev pop in to answer as well.

send then ticket to add sampras and agassi, for difficulty the solution is so simple, one more difficulty setting to be added above expert, no need to keep changing the current gameplay it wl be mess , weekly changed

Why have we not got NO.5 Elena Rybakina yet as she just beat Sabalenka again in a major tournament, also Gael Monfils and does anyone know if Tiebreak will ever get Serena Williams.

monfils, fils, bublik animations are already in the game, so they will be added in the coming weeks, however adding classic players like williams, sampras, agassi, edberg,…is way more impactful than adding average current players…

Little thing called licence mite be a issue with them classic players. Can’t just go and add who ever they like it all costs and top spin have few of those classics players as well so there’s another problem. Would be nice just to be able to add whoever people ask for but not real life sadly… Plus you may find as the game is the official atp/wta adding current players would be probably more impactful, not players who retired 20 plus years ago

if this wants to go to the next level they need to think about licencsing classic players, this wt fifa does and nba 2k and MLB the show, all the big sprots game they depend on classics unless your are born after 1995, those classics are like 100000 times more impactful than adding player like fils or biblik, poeple would pay extra just to have real ammination of agassi or sampras or steffi graf

For me this update is a huge improvement and I really hope devs are careful with any further updates as there still seems to be a lot of contrasting opinions.

Finally serving gives you an advantage (to some extent) as it’s now possible to ace your opponent. It feels like the timing that determines whether you ace or not requires the perfect amount of precision that it prevents it from happening all the time, but equally you know when you’ve got it right and this makes you feel in control, which is satisfying. However, playing on expert difficulty (which I feel is the right difficulty for me in general play), sometimes even when you have the timing perfect and you do not ace, the return of serve from the CPU is definitely over powered. It is just not logical that I can hit a 220kph + serve over the net and it comes back at me just as fast and with pinpoint accuracy? Never hitting long or wide? It’s like I’ve just sent them a sitting duck! It does not happen every time, which is why it is still possible to win your service games, particularly now you can ace your opponent, but when you don’t and this happens it’s just annoying. It’s not about somehow learning how to still return them, which I would argue in some instances is just not possible, it’s the fact that it feels unbalanced and unrealistic. Sometimes my serves force their return into the net, which is good, but they rarely force a defensive or low powered return. The frequency with which they can return with a winner is just frustrating.

Of course there are still some niggles but for me this is the biggest issue with the game in its current state and it wouldn’t take much to balance this. The rest of the gameplay is now feeling very satisfying, challenging and rewarding. It’s now so much harder on expert to break your opponents serve and this is how it should be. I have played some really tense 5 set matches this week, where it’s predominantly been all about who can break their opponents serve to get the advantage in each set. It feels like tennis. The CPU behaviour feels more dynamic, playing a much more varied game and punishing me for any weak returns or poor positioning. The logic for the shots they play and where they play them is far more appropriate than it has been.

Aside from the main issue mentioned, I really hope future updates are more about finessing smaller issues because this game is good now I’m finding it very hard to put it down!

for everybody here who doesn’t have discord. Mike just addressed the roadmap going forward…

Sorry for the relative silence. I’ll list top five gameplay

  1. Bs serve returns. Totally have to be based on serve quality and receiver positioning. We are very aware we need to ensure we don’t make the game easier.
  2. Down line/Cross court loop. We know why this is happening this is linked to AI strategies and over using opponents position to determine next shot.
  3. Net Play. Multi faceted AI positioning at Net, working angles, ensuring vollies play out correctly.
  4. Aiming. Better Risk and reward for both serve and rallies.
5 AI shot use. Under use of slice, dropshots, lobs and no use of special shots.

This isn’t all elements and doesn’t include other game elements such as online, challenges, injuries, match stamina, etc.

Considering the size of the current roster with few more still to be added I don’t think you can complain about the roster it’s pretty impressive. Ofc classic players would be cool addition but it’s the first edition of this franchise who knows if they will even be another one , FIFA etc have been going for decades. Let them focus purely on gameplay, and ai for now and when or if that gets in a good place then yea classics would be great…

That what i said :+1:

I hope they will fix that, before this update, it was perfect.

They just need to fix that now.

I hope for next update
